Craps Basic Gameplay:
Gameplay in craps is based primarily around what’s known as the pass line bet, and every other bet in the game is secondary to this one. In fact, most people who play craps only play the pass line bet because of its low house advantage and simple, but entertaining, way of resolving itself as an even money wager.
First Roll Of The Dice
A player’s first roll of the dice on a given turn is called the come out roll, and a pass line bet has to be made on the come out roll. If the total for that roll is a 2, 3 or 12, then it loses right away, and a new come out roll starts.
If it hits 7 or 11, then it wins right away, and a new come out roll comes up next. However, if it’s one of the six numbers called the place numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10), then that number becomes what’s known as the “point” number, and play proceeds to a second stage.
The Second Stage of the Pass Line Bet:
In this second stage of the craps game, the person rolling the dice will roll over and over again until one of two things happens. If the player rolls a seven first, the second stage is over, and the pass line bet loses.
However, if the player rolls the point number first, then the pass line bet wins. Any other number just requires that the shooter rolls again. The payout rate for the craps pass line bet is pretty good at 98.6 percent, almost a full point higher than even European roulette, so it’s worth taking a look at because of how simple, yet exciting, the main bet in the game of craps can be.
Craps can be an extremely unforgiving game while at the exact same time can also be a potentially lucrative game if you know what you’re doing. There are so many potential strategies that a player could use while at the craps table; so trying to find the best strategy to use can be a pretty daunting task. But fortunately we’re here to help you out. Let’s have a good look at an actual ‘winning craps strategy’:
Three Point Molly Craps Strategy
With so many bets possible on the craps table which is the best? Probably the most commonly used strategy on the tables is one known as the “three point Molly”. This particular craps strategy gets its name from the way you place your bets, because at any one time you should have 3 bets active on the table.
The basis of the Three point molly craps strategy is using both the pass line and the come bet as part of your betting. At the start of the game you place a bet on the pass line and wait for the shooter to throw the point. Once appointed been established you now place a bet on the come line. The die are now thrown again and your come is placed on a number.
You now immediately backup this come bet by placing odds on the number that was just rolled. Note that you can choose how many units to place odds on the number, but I would recommend placing odds of two betting units.
You now have your ‘three point Molly‘ established on the table.
Your pass line bet, your come bet and the odds placed on that come bet. If at any point your come bet wins you must immediately place another come bet. If your pass line bet wins and your come bet is still on the table then just continue by placing another pass line bet and establishing your 3 points again.
This is the basic strategy of the three point Molly and it’s probably by far the most commonly used craps strategy at the craps table as it is easy to understand and also very effective at providing nice wins for the players.
0% House Edge.
Another advantage of this system is using the odds on your come line bet. This is good because the come line on a craps table actually has a 0% house edge. This is the reason why most casinos will not allow you to place odds on a come line bet unless you already have a bet on the pass line.
So when you do have a bet on the pass line and you then place a come bet and place odds on that come bet you’re actually reducing the house edge relative to that when you just had a pass line bet. Hopefully this system will be good craps strategy for you and you will have some happy times and some exciting times at the craps tables.
