How to play blackjack
Before the start of a hand each player decides how much they want to wager on this hand. Each player playing at the table is dealt two cards face up while the dealer deals themselves single card also face up. In Blackjack, card suits have no effect on the game, because all the face cards have a value of ten, whereas the ace can have a double value, either 1 or 11, something that provides the utmost value.
The aim of the game is to beat the dealer by getting as close to 21 as possible without going over. All cards count for face value except Jack’s Queens and Kings which all count for 10 and aces which can count for either 1 or 11 depending on whichever gets you closest to 21.
Each player is been given the option of taking another card It will help them get closer to 21. For example if the player is dealt a 7 and a 3 they have a total of 10 so far. But there is no card left in the deck that could possibly take them over 21 if they took another card so in this case it would be wise for the player to take another card because it will definitely get them closer to 21 without going over.
In Blackjack you can:
Hit: When you want a new card, it means that you are requesting a hit. Be aware though that any card can pop out, so you do need to think properly in order to create a blackjack strategy that will give you a stellar advantage as you play. If you feel that the cards you have are ok, you should stand.
Stand: Standing allows you to maintain your current set of cards and this brings you an amazing value and astounding results unlike never before. You can wave the hand over the top of your cards when you play in the land based casino, whereas online you just need to press a button.
After you do take another card you will be given the option of taking yet another card and you will keep getting the option of taking another card until you either decide to stand which means to not take another card or your total exceeds 21.
Once all players at the table have either stood or exceeded 21, the blackjack dealer now deals themselves cards until they their total reaches a value of 17 or more.
Although, the rules for when the dealer should stand and when they should hit will change slightly depending on what casino you are playing at.
We reached the end of the hand and any players who are closer to 21 than the dealer gets paid even money on their original wager. Unless they scored blackjack which is getting a score of exactly 21 from two cards i.e they have an ass and a card of value 10 as the first two cards.
In the case of a blackjack win, the original wager is paid 3/2. In the case of the player and the dealer having the same value the wager just returned to the player. A Blackjack win by getting exactly 21 points which paid $100, and a Blackjack win by getting a ‘Blackjack hand’ paying a $150 win.
There are also some other rules that you will need to be aware of if you want to play Blackjack. What is called splitting. You can split when your first two cards are matching i e a seven and a seven, an ace and an ace etc.
In this case when you decide to split you have to double your original wager and your hand is literally split into 2 separate hands using one of your original cards in each and that you’re dealt two more cards to complete both of the hands.
From here it is exactly the same rules as playing a single hand of blackjack you are now just in control of two hands instead.
The final rule you should be aware of is called doubling down. Doubling down also requires you to double your original wager then you were allowed to be dealt one more card from the deck and no more. For example if you were dealt a 7 and a 4, you now have a total of 11. When you choose to double down, you basically double the bet in your game of blackjack after receiving your first cards. This can be a little challenging because any card can follow, so it does involve quite a lot of risks, however, the rewards can be huge in this regard, you can rest assured of that.
You feel confident in your chances of getting a 10 on your next card see you double down. This doubles your bet but of course if you win it doubles your winnings. Comma if that third card is at 2 you do not have the ability to take 4th card because you double down. Never double down above the 11. The highest card value that can be dealt to you is a 10. If you have 11, it will make 21. If you have 12, you go bust and lose the hand.
If the dealer has an ace up, you can ask for an insurance, and this will allow you to make a side bet in order to increase the profits, if these will arrive. Although most people say it’s best to never go for the insurance in Blackjack.
